Lyon is the third-largest city and second-largest urban area of France, located in the country's east -central part at the confluence of the rivers Rhone and Saone, about 470 km south from Paris. The population is 513,275 in 2015.
It is known for its cuisine and gastronomy, and also historical and architectural landmarks. It used to be an important area for the production and weaving of silk.
We went up to the hill of Fourviere and viewed the old city. Many of the roofs were red, probably an image of the Middle ages.
Soon afterward, we entered Notre Dame Cathedral.
