I slept quite well until the morning call woke me up at 6:00. Breakfast
was 6:30.
Who should we thank? Today and the following days almost during our travel
seem to be a fine weather with no wind. It's the weather of the Mediterranean
Sea!
We left the hotel at 8:15 for the half-day sightseeing around Dubrovnik.
After lunch, drove southward nearly 200 km to Kotor, Montenegro.
Sightseeing at the old town there for one hour, and after that we drove back to Dubrovnik.
It was quite necessary to cross the national border for going back and
forth the two cities. We were once requested to show a passport and not
the next. No trouble all the way.

Dubrovnik |

After strolling in the old town, we walked around the castle wall fighting
with the great ups and downs.
Not only the castle wall itself, but also the views from it were marvelous.
Brick-color roofs are lined up, and rock faces, the Adriatic Sea, .....
Endless shutter chances! |

Dubrovnik |
Dubrovnik is a city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia. It is one

seaport and the center of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Its total population
is 42,615 (census 2011). In 1979, the city of Dubrovnik joined the UNESCO
list of World Heritage sites.
The prosperity of the city was historically based on maritime trade; as the capital of the maritime Republic of Ragusa, it achieved a high level of development, particularly during the 15th and 16th centuries, as it became notable to its wealth and skilled diplomacy. (English Wikipedia) |

Kotor |

Driving along the steep cliffs facing the Adriatic Sea with the view of
the limestone mountains on the other side. We enjoyed the wonderful sight.
In Kotor, Montenegro, we looked around the small old town. It is one of
the old towns every day during this trip. Exactly due to it, we did not
have special excitement here. What a waste!
On the way back to Dubrovnik, Croatia, we took a shortcut after crossing
the country border crossing the tunnel. Cypresses along the mountains were
so beautiful.

Kotor |
Kotor is a coastal town of Montenegro. It is located in a secluded part
of the Gulf of Kotor. The city has the population of 13,510 and is the
administrative center of Kotor Municipality.
The old Mediterranean port of Kotor is surrounded by fortifications built
during the Venetian period. It is located on the Bay of Kotor, one of the
most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. Some have called it the southern-most
fjord in Europe, but it is a ria, a submerged river canyon. Together with
the nearby overhanging limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovcen, Kotor and
its surrounding area form an impressive landscape. (English Wikipedia) |
