Part 1 First Day

I had booked for this three-day trip of our couple, departing on Sunday, May 6.
I had forgotten that the day in between was overlapped with a checkup at the cardiovascular department of Juntendo Hospital. While regretting my mistake, the hospital is more important considering the side effects of the medicine I took for more than 10 years and the abnormality in my body. With the understanding of the cancellation fee, I postponed it for 10 days.

Clear sky.
At 12:40 p.m., Joetsu Shinkansen "Max Toki 321" departed Tokyo Station with 17 tour members.
After 2:30, we got off at Tsubame-Sanjo Station. The shuttle bus drove us to the hotel "Minoya, the Inn of Four Seasons" for 40 minutes.
According to the weather forecast, the next 2 days staying here are not good. And now, the sun is still in the middle of the sky and the weather is very fine. Our couple caught at the chance and took a walk around Mount Yahiko.

Mount Yahiko
We got on a free bus from the bus stop near the hotel to the foothill ropeway station. Only 5 minutes to get there.

The summit is 634 meters high, "Musashi" (six-three-four in Japanese, the same height with Tokyo Sky Tree).
The summit station is on the ninth station. We walked around the wide circle for about an hour.
Unfortunately, we couldn't see as far as Sado Island, but were able to enjoy the majestic view of nature from the summit square.

Back at the bus stop, Yahiko Shrine is right there. Though it is our tomorrow's highlight, we still have enough time now.
As a result, we decided to take a look around the precinct for a while.
This section, together with the next day's portion, will be transferred to the next chapter.
